Hi all,
I'm trying to copile a remote interface implementation class to gerate the stub and skel using rmic. I'm running into the following error on a Solaris box:
error: Class java.rmi.server.UnicastRemoteObject not found in class server.engine.ServerStartup.
ServerStartup class implements the remote interface and extends the UnicastRemoteObject. The compilation went through perfectly. I have all the classpaths set correctly (I think so..)
Please provide some insight into this.
Thanks
Suresh

Hi Suresh,
I have also encountered this problem with JDK 1.3.1 on SUN (sparc) with Solaris 7. I don't know why this happens, but the workaround I use is to add the path to the relevant JAR file to my classpath. The relevant JAR file is "rt.jar". On my SUN computer, this is located in the "jre/lib" subdirectory of my JDK installation. [To be precise, the full path is "usr/java/jre/lib/rt.jar"]
Hope this helps you.
Good Luck,
Avi.
