Hi,
Is it true that CGI is used in developing these pages at javaranch?? I am not sure but why isn't JSP used? i mean i expected jsp for a java related forum. but obviously there are advantages of CGI over jSP which i don't know since i am quite unfamiliar with jsp.

JavaRanch has been around for quite a few years now. When it was first set up, there were no Java-based forum management products available.
Nowadays, there are quite a few. Even as we speak, I hear tell that the illustrious staffers here at the Ranch are looking at JSP/Servlet-based solutions, and we expect to be making some changes 'round here sometime real soon now.
