Hi,
Ihave a process(java program) which spawns(triggers) other processes(java programs) which might be atleast 3 in number all these processes r in different JVM's (since they might require a lot of memory). when these spawned processes complete execution they should update their status to the programme which triggered them, so thati can spawn(trigger) some more processes on the basis of their status. can anyone please suggest a feasible solution.
thanks in advance.
regards,
Shahabuddin.

Answer to your question: RMI. It's a handy mechanism for communicating between JVMs.
This has nothing to do with Threads; I'm going to recommend that it be moved to "Distributed Computing."
