starting service from java process

+Pie Number of slices to send: Send
Hi all,
We have a requirement to start a web trends service from a java process
by passing certain arguments available to the java process.
Only command level interface is available to start the service and the
arguments can be passed as command line parameters.
does any body have any idea.?
cheers,
Rahul Juneja

On Windows, that would be done by executing a BAT file.

Write a Java class and call the "Runtime.Exec" Command which will take the executable file and the command line parameters that need to be sent to the file.
Refer to J2SE Runtime Class for more information on how to call a cmd line executable and to pass parameters to it.
