Hi all
I am a beginner to RMI.
I want to know whether RMI requires client and server JVM's to be on different machines(remote machines).
or the two can be on the same machine ??
Is it possible ??
Thanks in advance

Yes they can run on the same machine just as well. They can even be run from within the same program so they will share a single JVM. Just a matter of how you set it up.
