hi,

I am at the beginning on a Jini project. I have tried to start bundles web server and RMID, and they are working fine, however, when tried to startup the (reggie.jar) it first created the log directory, and then just exited without any exception or message.
Without any exception or message, I am not able to debug or figure out the problem. Does anyone how to solve this or where to begin?

My config is Windows 2000 SP4 / Java 1.4.1_05 / Jini1_2_1_001
And my scripts are as the following:

@rem START JINI 1.2.1_001 BUNDLED WEB SERVER
java -jar C:\jini1_2_1_001\lib\tools.jar -port 8080 -dir
C:\jini1_2_1_001\lib -verbose

@rem START RMID; %JAVA_HOME% is at C:\j2sdk1.4.2_01
%JAVA_HOME%\bin\rmid -J-Dsun.rmi.activation.execPolicy=none -J-Dnet.jini.discovery.debug=1 -J-Djava.security.policy=%JINI_HOME%\policy\policy.all
@rem JINI_HOME=C:\jini1_2_1_001
set JINI_HOME=C:\jini1_2_1_001
@rem SETUP reggie.jar
set REGGIE_JAR=%JINI_HOME%\lib\reggie.jar
@rem SETUP CODEBASE; This is also where the client lives!
set CODEBASE=http://192.168.0.3:8080/reggie-dl.jar
@rem SETUP POLICY
set POLICY=%JINI_HOME%\policy\policy.all
@rem SETUP LOG_DIR
set LOG_DIR=jini_log
@rem GROUP_POLICY
set GROUP_POLICY=public
@rem ACTIVATE LOOKUP, reggie.jar
java -jar %REGGIE_JAR% %CODEBASE% %POLICY% %LOG_DIR% %GROUP_POLICY%

I'm certainly not a JINI expert, but I have been playing with JINI and JavaSpaces. With Jini2_0_002, it appears to be possible to run without RMID. Have you considered using Jini2?
