I am new to RMI.
My question maybe kind of stupid.
I am trying to do a collaboration client-server application using RMI.
It could be a shared whiteboard or a chatroom.
And I try to implement this system such that when any one wants to use this system, then my application needs to get the permission from the user.
For example, it is like the unix file, permission could be from the root, user , group people, or others.
This is so far what I can think of.
So can any one give me any idea or some good reference to check out?
Thanks!!

I don't think RMI is what you are going to want to use. You need something thats does better 2 way communication. Maybe someone else can suggest something

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
