Hi,
I've got a problem with Java and mySQL.
My program (Java servlets) throws a lot of java.rmi.ConnectIOExceptions and crashes after a few hours.

But unfortunately this problem only occurs with the newer mySQL version 4.1.13.
With older versions (4.0.17, 3.x.x) there's no problem.

Does anyone know the problem or have a solution?
Thank you

I don't think there's enough information to say what the problem is...

What's throwing the java.rmi.ConnectIOExceptions? Not MySQL... it's not throwing these exceptions directly because it's not written in Java. What's using RMI that's throwing these exceptions? EJBs, hand-rolled RMI objects, etc.?

Also, are there any other exceptions listed that the ConnectIOExceptions are caused by?

Can you post a stack trace?

Now I know a little more:

It seems that the rmiregistry crashes.
When I start my program without the rmiregistry, I get the same errors.
Here are the exceptions (just the beginning, they recur a dozen times):

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
