Please read this on use of a meaningful subject line.
If your subject had been "CORBA error" would not have wasted bandwidth reading the post because I don't know a thing about CORBA.

CORBA often serialises data (e.g. struct) to send it over the network, or to pack it in an Any. This is called marshalling and the process of turning the serialised data back into its original structured form is called demarshalling.

For demarshalling to succeed, the program doing the demarshalling must agree with the program doing the marshalling about what it going to be in the stream. If both use the same IDL, and have compatible ORBs, they should succeed in doing so.

Sometimes, the problem can be that some IDL has been changed, but only some components of the system have been rebuilt, while others still have the old IDL.

If this is your problem, you should take more care when changing the IDL. There are ways that a degree of compatibility between different versions of interfaces can be maintained, but it won't happen magically.
