Hi all,
I'm working with rmi. if my remote method return type is primitive or predefined, i am able to access that methods from client side. For ex. interface HelloRMI extends Remote
{
boolean isValid(.....)throws RE
int getNo(.......)th...
JFrame getHelloFrame(.....)...
Properties getProp(.....)....
}
is working fine, and able to access these from client side.
but if i have one method which returns custom-object like
Student getStud(....)... or StudFrame getFrame(....) , etc. these are not accessible from client and i am getting ClassDefNotFoundException for Student, StudFrame, etc.

XMLDecoder, RMISocketFactory, codebase, many docs, confused me a lot. please give one simple sample with one userdefined return type method with complete steps to follow in both server and client side.

Thanks.
all the best

Hi, you have put a similar post sometime back. Here is the link.
The answer provided does give you 2 options that you can follow to solve this problem. The specified link has detailed explanation of codebase and dynamic class downloading.
I think after reading the answer and the specified link you must get an idea as to what is going wrong.
What else do you want?

Don't get me started about those stupid light bulbs.
