I have been updating a J2EE web site for a client.
The site is old about 2000-2001 so has very poor coding standards.
The people that developed it had never heard of scriptless JSPs

I want to write a proposal for the client to have the website to be refactored to use JSF.

Has anyone got any advice? Tips?

Thanks

Start from scratch! the point of view
is different frm other frameworks. It is not worth it to
try any sort of translation from other framework spaces.

I'd agree but not for the same reasons. The mere fact that they have scripts all over their JSP's would indicate poor design elsewhere in the application. It would make more sense to recreate the application rather than translating/converting it. Even to the extent of never looking at the code base again.
