One of the things that I have run into and had to work around with JSF (using RI) is that any straight HTML markup gets rendered in the JSP before the JSF tags when the HTML is within a parent JSF tag.

See Improving JSF by Dumping JSP

When using tiles this poses some real problems, especially when I want to give part of the page to a colleague web designer who will deliver his markup in straight static HTML.

To get around this I have been using Exadel's excellent freebee HTML TagLib for JSF. But I can't expect other web developers who are not Java programmers to use these tags in their sections of the site.

From what I have read so far, I understand that this is a problem with the way JSPs are processed, and must be fixed in the JSP specification.

Are there any JSF implementations or other techiniques which get around this problem?
For example, is it resolved in MyFaces?

Looks like changing my JSF implementation to MyFaces and implementing in facelets instead of JSPs is in order.
