JDeveloper: in need of JSF to Oracle DB integration suggestions
posted 11 years ago
I am trying to develop a web application which has a sorta web-shop functionality (login/password, selecting items and so on). I am using JDeveloper (10.1.3 EA version) and Oracle 10g database.
While I am now quite skilled at developing a JSF UI and creating basic backing beans for my application (e.g. ones that keep all the necessary data in-code), I am still quite stumped when it comes to communicating with the underlying database.
Can somebody please give me some suggestions at what is the best approach? I am totally confused with the new EJB 3.0 spec, am unable to find any good JSF/Toplink tutorials and using JDBC seems a little bit, I dunno, backward. What's worse, I have tons of JSF articles, tutorials, and in all of them there is hardly any info concerning this subject - almost all of them mention databases like an afterthought.
So, any kind of help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers!
