Hi all,

I am new to JSF and after going through FAQ's and sample tutors i got some hands on knowledge in JSF but in SUN site - J2EE FAQ's there was one quetion that points out the differences between JSF and Struts .

Listing out some differences .
1. I18N in JSF is not easy in JSF but very easy in struts
2. Access control is not possible in JSF which works good in struts

could anyone explain me with sample piece of code that how I18N & access control is possible in struts but not in JSF. It would be a great help if i get the answer in code.

Thanks
Sanjay Ram

Actually, I18N is a fairly late addition to Struts, but was designed into JSF.

And I can assure you access control is quite possible in JSF, because I have several systems in production right now using access controls!

Hi Tim Holloway ,

You are right and thats the reason i was asking for explanation from experts that how it is not possible in JSF and wanted to explain it through a sample piece of code.

Whether i should go for struts or JSF when i start developing a new application and what about the performance of JSF ???

Could you please help me out in getting the clear picture about how JSF is advantageous over struts.

Thanks ,
Sanjay

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
