I have a JSF app that needs to call a servlet and then continue on as normal.

The code I use to do this is:

The servlet does get called just fine and works as it should, but I get this exception:

java.lang.NullPointerException
com.sun.faces.el.ValueBindingImpl.(ValueBindingImpl.java:98)
com.sun.faces.application.ApplicationImpl.createValueBinding(ApplicationImpl.java:292)

Am I calling the servlet wrong?

I know that I can redirect to it, but that won't allow the flow to continue in the JSF app.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Maybe the question I should be asking is this:

Just how do you call a servlet from inside a JSF app so that the servlet gets executed, but the JSF app continues on?

With a little knowledge, a cast iron skillet is non-stick and lasts a lifetime.
