Hello ... could your book be used as a beginner's guide or a reference book? I am a newbie to JSF althought i have heard about the technology a lot.

Hello,

Part 1 of the book reads like a beginners guide to a certain extent. It covers the core aspects of Faces technology and makes no assumption of the reader's background.

Later in the book where more advanced topics are covered, the text reads in a more advanced fashion. Ed and I have worked hard to make each chapter start first with concepts and then move to more advanced stuff later in the chapter.

As for the pure reference material, this can be read by anyone without an advanced background.
