Our shop is using JSF...We're using IBM's RAD IDE. We could really use a good reference for "best practices" on how to make an application portable, and security references for container managed and application level programming are not very clear. Our shop has never done anything but html and JSF(no struts or other frameworks) Where do you suggest that we get that info or can your book help us?

We love JSF...but could use these good references.

Thanks for your consideration.

Our book can absolutely help you. We cover container and application managed security for JSF. By portable do you mean full accessibility/internationalization support? (I assume so since Java is inherently portable) Our book also covers accessibility/internationalization in more than one chapter.

Aside from our book, there's plenty of info online. JSFCentral is a decent place to see what's going on in the world of JSF..

Chris...

What i really mean by portable is for example...
I work for a company that writes and application and wants to sell it to another company, but doesn't want to have to rewite the application to do this. I've seen .propreties files used and we use them for custom error messages and help files but not having used other frameworks and having no previous experience how can our shop get the "best practices" for doing this type of thing right(and completely) the first...okay, maybe the third or fourth time?

Respectfully...
