This is something that has bugged me for some time now, but I haven't quite figured out the proper way to address the issue.

I have a JSF page that calls method on a Managed Bean. The bean stores information in the database and retuns to the orignating page. I would like to be able to let the user know that the action was successful, but not use the same h:message for errors. This is more like a response message to the action performed.

What is the best way to do this. It seems to me that h:message is really only designed to handle messages associated with a UI component, like for errors.

Cheers

<h:messages errorClass="errorMessage" infoClass ="infoMessage" />

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
