downloading files

+Pie Number of slices to send: Send
I need to download a file that is on a remote linux box, change the file extension and display the file in a webpage (the file is an image). I've written a java class to get the file path - this information is stored in an oracle database on the same machine. So I have the file system path. My problem is that I don't have access to the file system and the linux box is not our machine. The vendor has provided access to the db with read only userid and password, but how can I get to the images now??? I've heard mention of Samba or DFS??? Anyone have any suggestions???

You have posted message in wrong forum.

But you can use PuTTY to get some file from remote server.
You will find
PSCP
on this website. This is nothing but one .exe file which you can execute from java with passing different parameter.
