I'm currently working on a project where i need to dynamically populate a monthly calendar view using jsf. i'm creating 32 objects (for possible 31 days and one null object) that contain the integer date, putting those 32 objects into an arraylist, and using the arraylist to populate the calendar (one arraylist element equals one day or table cell), but i cannot think of how to display it out. i cannot use a datatable because you cant display horizontally, and i tried a panelGrid and defined the number of colums as 7, but it took all objects and squeezed them all into one row. i need it to 'wrap' so that it will populate and look like a monthly calendar. i also tried the tomahawk custom tag library, (t:dataList) but that didnt work either.

How do you display this using jsf, out of one arraylist?

P.S. i posted this in another thread, but i dont think i explained myself correctly.

I have never created a calendar, but I've used panelgrids with panelgroups for performing similar tasks. For instance, if you have a panelgrid with 3 columns, you could group data together using the panelgroup tag. Therefore, you would have three panelgroups making up the one table row.

Look at this link http://www.exadel.com/tutorial/jsf/jsftags-guide.html and go to the UIPanel section for more details.

Hope this helps...

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
