Hi all,i when i running my jsf sample, i got this Exception:

what is this exception?and how can i solve it?

That's the reason. Check if all required jars are present and that the faces-config.xml, web.xml and the EL is setup, initialized and used correctly.

You can get this error if the Faces Context could not be set up successfully (which usually is caused by some other exception such as ClassNotFound for a Faces class).

You can also get this error is the Faces Context was not set up at all. That would be because the flow of control didn't pass through the Faces Servlet which constructs the Faces Context for that request. Most often this will happen because the URL you are using isn't mapped to the Faces Servlet based on the URL mapping rules in web.xml. In this case, you might have invoked the JSP directly.
