hi,

in a table inside af:showDetailItem
if the width of table is in pixels works fine but if the width is specified in % not work.

why??

It's probably what the width is a percentage of. I often have this problem until I realize that I have tables embedded inside other tables inside still other tables and that one of the containing tables has crunched all my carefully-planned size definitions.

One of the best ways I know to troubleshoot this is to use Mozilla's DOM Inspector. You can walk up and down the DOM tree and it will highlight the area that a selected element renders and/or contains.
