UBBCode v HTML tags

I see the list of UBBCode is a short one:
  • bold
  • italic
  • color
  • email
  • url
  • list
  • quote
  • img

  • Yet I see posts that must use HTML tags ie table, pre, etc. Are HTML tags legal for this site? Or where would one find a complete list of UBBCode usable for this site?
    TIA

Some forums allow HTML (this one for example). others do not. If you want to see the list of UBB codes, when you post a reply look to your left and click the link that says "UBB code is enabled".

just as a little explanation -- the reason a bunch of the forums have HTML code disabled is because in those forums (like JSP, HTML and JavaScript, etc), people usually post HTML code as part of a question. And they wouldn't want their code to get interpretted by a browser -- that would just make it way too tough to figure out their problems.

Is there a way to make the text small with UBB code? It is pretty hard reading the UBB CODE tag.

And just an addition to this is security. If sites allowed all HTML then someone could possibly post some malicious javascript/html or server side code that would get interpreted and that can be very bad.

We had to enlarge the code because it was so tuny that it was unreadable!

Mathias - are you talking about the text inside [ code ] tags, or all text? If it's all text, you should be able to adjust this from your browser. If it's a problem with [ code ] only, you're the first person who's complained about it being too big. What browser/platform are you using?

    Hahahha....
I don't like Horisontal scrollbar that's all. I keep getting a scroll at
    the bottom of the page.

If you see a horizontal scrollbar it's almost always because someone has posted a lump of code (or other "preformatted" text) which has a particularly long line in it. The browser can't wrap the preformatted text, so it has to offer a scrollbar.
Regular posts are wrapped automatically, so the problem never occurs. If you point out a specific example to the moderator of the forum, you might be able to get a particularly long line manually wrapped to make a whole thread more readable. Sometimes, though, the length is part of the question, and you just gotta live with it.
    Does that make sense?
