Hi guys,

Could you please answer some if my doubts below regarding JSF & JSTL on the same page ?

Doubt #1 : Is there some way to dynamically construct a page where the columns are variable by using a dataTable tag ? What I need is basically show some items on columns instead of rows as the dataTable tag actually does.

Doubt #2 : Once we don't have an equivalent forEach tag in JSF, what if I need to iterate over a collection for example ? I know that I could use the dataTable tag but as this tag accepts only a child column tag I don't have so much freedon to perform ANYTHING I want, am I correct ?

Doubt #3 : What is the main difference between JSF 1.1 and JSF 1.2 ?
I've heard that JSF 1.2 is supposed to support JSTL more transparently but I'm not sure.

Doubt #4 : Supposing I have the following snipped code :

For the snipped code above, the default value for the userName property is the string "Before" and the output is :

JSF : After
JSTL : After
JSF : After
JSTL : Before

As per my understanding the output would be :

JSTL : Before
JSF : Before
JSTL : After
JSF : After

Can you please tell me what is going on behind the scenes ?

You replies for any questions above would be immensely appreciated.

Best Regards,
Edisandro.
