Window.showModal Dialog in JSF

We are developing a JSF Datatable which displays a set of rows containing some records. The data in each row can be edited in a pop up window where they are in the form of input text boxes. The need is for us to make a modal dialog box as a popup. The data edited in the page is sent to the managed bean to update in the datatbase. The problem is the pop up window does not close when we click the submit button to execute the JSF action. When we try giving a java script function to close the same the window closes and the managed bean is not called.

We tried using

opener.document.formname.txt1.value = 'newvalue' it works fine for the modeless dialog but when we use the same fot the modal Dialog it is not working propely.

We got the following error opener.document is null or not an object.

Hi,

This is venkat me also facing same problem but its little different.I have solution to you are problem.I think you got answer for your problem.But any way am sending answer to you your problem.You have to write

window.location.reload(true);
window.self.close();

This will work for showModalDialog for refreshing parent window.

I need what you write for edit .Because I need that code.When i click on edit hyperLink i have to display the corresponding data what i selected.

So if you have can you re reply to this topic.

Yhanks In advance.
