early on, I had a post regarding jsf, tomcat, and eclipse. I got the jsf application to run from eclipse on tomcat successfully. However, when i tried to run the same application on jboss, i could not start jboss.

I changed the port number for tomcat from eclipse editor from 8080 to 80,so that jboss can take 8080. But every try to start jboss, error message indicates 8080- in use.

not sure why -- really puzzled. need help and advice. really appreciate your advice. thanks a million.

Tomcat and JBoss both use port 8080 by default. In fact, one of the most common JBoss configurations runs embedded Tomcat. So to run JBoss, you'll have to either shutdown Tomcat or change things so that one server or the other uses some port other than 8080.
