Hi friend

From where can i download the javax.el package
Is there any jar file for el package

That's part of the JSP 2.1 API. So if you have a server that supports Servlet 2.5/JSP 2.1 -like Tomcat 6- then you should have the required jar file already.

Or follow the http://faq.javaranch.com/java/SpecificationUrls page to JSP 2.1/EL 2.1.

I think you can get a copy from the Maven repositories or the jakarta website.

But as Ulf noted, it's built into newer web application servers. A fact I learned the hard way when I switched over and had conflicts in the app I was using that had bundled the el jars into the WAR.

Since this is the JSF forum, you should expect el support to be already available to you. The only time you'd need to explicitly include el (plus related libraries like the beanutils) would be if you were writing a standalone (non-web) application that you wanted to soup up with EL capabilities. Like maybe your own web application server.

Thanks for the reply

I downloaded and run the program by setting it to CLASSPATH

Now i am getting the errors at this lines

Saying

Cannot Find the symbol method getELContext()

Cannot Find the symbol method getExpressionFactory()

help me out to fix the errors
 
Don't get me started about those stupid light bulbs.
