Does it give any improvements over CMP beans??

Are there any special settings to work with a commercial app server like Weblogic???

How about you don't have to write CMP beans for starters

Weblogic 8.1 with optimistic concurreny and cache between transactions turned on performs prety well. Benchmarks..no idea!
Well, from what i read here, looks like hibernate will outperform any ejb implementation because of the basic difference in the architecture.

Till now I haven't seen such a comparison. Moreover, I think there is no generic way to test/proove this - as each application will be able in a way to turn the results upside down :-).
