what is more mature java OODB (object-oriented database) product now used mostly in the market?

Actually why Hibernate, it is because the database is relational , not OODB. That is my thinking. Am I right ?

I'm afraid all OODBs have so tiny market shares of the whole persistence market that it's very difficult to find a product that has a significant user base. If I had to guess, Ozone might be one of the most common, considering that it's open source. From commercial products, Versant's FastObjects J2 might have some users as well.

Hibernate is an object-relational mapping (ORM) tool, not an object-oriented database management system (ODBMS).
