Hi

We have developed an hibernate application with the ability to pull data from database A and insert/Update to database B. Now the committee has decided not to use Hibernate, I am responsible to replace it with a proper technology which works well with AutoSys. Anyone has a clue of a technology which replaces this. Greatly appreciate your time in answering

Thanks
Madhu

Your requirements are a little vague. There are numerous technologies you can use depending on your requirements. Why do they not allow Hiberate? There are other Object Relational mapping technologies, but they have the same type of features as Hibernate, so my guess is that these would be frowned on as well.

Perhaps you need to look into some professional ETL tools. For simple things, you could use Microsoft Data Transformation Services. If you want to go higher-end, then look at Data Junction. The extreme side of the spectrum is Informatica's ETL product.

Hope that helps some.

Thank you Brent and Santosh for your thoughtful comments. Well, the reason for not using hibernate is pretty simple, as the company standards committee doesnt approve it, ETL is approved, and they are inclined towards that. That is the only reason for hibernate not be considered.

Appreciate your time

Thank you,
Madhu

Hi Madhu,

JDO technology can be used comparably to hibernate, and it would be very easy to convert your application. Professional tools in the JDO area are a Java standard and should be acceptable to your organization's policies.

Open source tools such as Apache Tomcat may do a good job, but often organizations may require standardization, security or professional tools.
