I am using a Profiler tool (Borland's OptimizeIt) to get a view of my JVM before, during and after executing my web app, which is running on Weblogic 8.1

I noticed that each time I execute a new thread (a new web client), that hibernate's SessionImpl instances are hanging around. I have waited for several garbage collection instances to take place.

I am explicitly closing hibernate sessions in my persistence implementation. Any suggestions on what may be going on--is this memory leak detrimental, or is it expected?
