I am a newbie to Hibernate and Object Relational Mapping tools. I tried to learn hibernate few days back, but I was referring to online material and couldn't get much help when I got stuck. My question to authers is how does your book helps people like me, and how much time do you expect in which a novice can learn hibernate using your book?
It's hard to say how long it will take to learn something like Hibernate. That said, we tried to take a steady, tutorial-like approach when we wrote the early chapters and examples.
We spend about half of the book on the basic Hibernate features: associations, collections, caching, components, etc. The other half is dedicated to using Hibernate with supporting tools and frameworks.
