In EJB we have CMP and BMP. Here for Hibernate does it utilize a mechanism more like CMP or BMP ??

Well in EJB 3.0 it would be more like CMP. But either way, you just have a Session and DTOs that are mapped to the database, and Hibernate will generate SQL, or you can use HQL or write your own SQL that executes through the Session.
