Hello all-
Has anybody done this? Im thinking of a very simple implementation that uses a generic DAO generating simple XML docs based on result set column names for element names.
I would use XSLT on the front end to display ad hoc reports.
thanks for your input

I am confused how this relates to ORM tools? I don't questioning on what you want to do, but I would ask if there isn't a better solution out there for your issue, but I also don't know which forum would be a better fit for your question.

What do you want me to do with the thread?

Hi Mark-
I suppose this could go into the XML forum. I was initially looking at Hibernate, hence this forum. My thinking was that Spring is a simpler approach to generic DAO, so start there.
thanks

Let's explore it a bit more. Are you querying a database and wanting to get the results in XML format, so that you can take that into XSLT and generate a report from that?

What about products like Jasper Reports, or JAXB, or IText?
