hibernate: could not get next sequence value

Hi,

I am trying to use sequence from the oracle..

My customer.hbm.xml



Here is the error I get:


Please help!!1

It says that your sequence doesn't exist in your database

ORA-02289: sequence does not exist

Are you sure
1) the Oracle database is running (Most likely)
2) you app is connected to it (Most likely)
3) You are connected to the correct database (Maybe/Maybe not)
4) There is actually a sequence table called "CUSTOMER_ID_sequence"

Or maybe, which I doubt that it might be case sensitive?

And additional to those steps, Mark already mentioned, make sure the database user id you are using has been granted privilege to use the sequence.

I had The same Issue,
then later on I found that the sequence Iam trying to use was not there in the database,
after creating the sequence it worked fine for me.
Thanks to Mark Spritzler for raising those questions.
