Cameron:

Is there any planned integration between Hibernate and Struts 2?

Thanks.

One of the great things about Hibernate is that it is very much a stand-alone technology that makes data persistence from a Java program very easy. Furthermore, it's extremely easy to integrate Hibernate into a Struts of JSF or GWT application.

As far as integration goes, simply adding the appropriate jar files to the lib directory of a web application makes Hibernate available to your struts 2 applications. From that end, you can write all your struts code, be it state management, command objects and controllers, and simply call Hibernate when data persistence is needed. It doesn't get much easier than that!
