Hi All,
I have a difeerent type of problem with hibernate.

In my application, i am reading the data from the database using hibernate.
But at the end of every read statement hibernate is issuing updates to the table. This is causing the lock escalation in our application which intern leading to the dead locks.

I tried with all the properties like insert=false, update=false cascade=none etc..

If any one you came across this kind of problem please help.

Please tell me how to stop the automaic updates issued by the hibernate.

Thanks in advance.

Why are read startements updating tables exactly? What exactly are they updating? If this isn't the desired behavior I'd say start with that.

As a side note, there are some general techniques for avoiding deadlocks such as requesting table resources in a particular order, although in your case I'd find out why the writes are occurring.

I am also facing the same problem,
After reading the hibernate issueing the update statements like below.

update EFDEV1.TEFME01 set ASSET_NUM=?, ASSET_TYPE_CD=?, ASSET_DOMAIN_CD=?, QUOTE_ID=?, PARTITION_ID=?, CREATE_TS=?, UPDATE_TS=?, STATE_CD=?, POLICY_NUMBER=?, COMP_ID=?, AFFINITY_ACCT_CD=? where ASSET_ID=?

It is trying to update all the fileds with values allready there in the database.

please advice me on how to stop these updates?
