Ouch, the call failed:
Fault Code = SOAP-ENV:Server.Exception:
Fault String = java.lang.NoSuchMethodError
same error is coming for every sample..but tomcat is able to communicate with SOAP.

Ensure that Xerces.jar is in your classpath and is before soap.jar.
2. What series of tomcat are you using ? 3.* or 4.* ?
As i type this i am trying to install soap on 4.1 and i am yet to get to the catalina class loading mechanism , it doesnt seem to recognise org.apache.....
3.
when you say the tomcat is able to communicate with soap , i am assuming you mean you are able to access - yoururl : port/soap/index.html and you are able to see the .jsp pages ?

Phew ! After one round of earl grey and 2 latte's : I realised if i am on Tom 4.1 and trying to add soap2_2 , apart from ensuring the classpath is in right order , one needs to "copy & paste" ( on win2k ) soap.jar and xerces.jar to the /lib folder of tomcat ...
It should be in the same folder as the jasper-compiler , j..-runtime , and naming-factory .
Hope this helps ..
