Hi,
I'm new to Web Services and found the following quote regarding SOAP:
"The most popular implementations are by Apache and Microsoft within their .NET platform. The two implementations have a few discrepancies that make applications developed using the two technologies non-interoperable".
1) Is this statement still a valid representation of the state of Web Services?
2) Is there any way of using Web Services to integrate Microsoft and J2EE applcations using Web Services?
3) Can Microsoft applications use the Apache rchnologies?
Our client has a number of systems that have been developed using different technologies - J2EE, COM/DCOM etc and would like the systems to be integrated. Are Web Services a solution for this type of integration or have I missed the point of Web Services entirely?
Thanks in advance for any help you provide,
Cheers,
Steve
