Hello All,
Could any one please let me know what the RAM + Storage (Hardware) requirement would be for running the below combination on a laptop/notebook.
Webservices pack(XML, soap etc)
DB2 V7.2
websphere
Windows XP
MQSeries.
The concept trying to test/present is, I have DB2 running on a mainframe which needs to talk to DB2 on the laptop via MQ and a provision to access services has to be set up on the laptop
I have found in the installation notes that a Ram of 512MB would be good enough to fire the transaction(DB2+ Websphere +XP ?? + Webservices pack) . Would RAM of 1024MB + 60GB be enough
to make the transactions faster.

I would think that you need ATLEAST 512 MB of RAM. It will be real nice to have more (about 1GB). (WAS, DB2 version 7.2 and MQ Series, all require minimum 512 MB). We are running MQ Series, DB2 and WAS 4.0 and it works okay (for development) with 512 MB RAM.
Though storage depends on what and how much you want to store, I would think that 60 GB should be enough.
Transaction speed with other things will also depend on what kind of processor you have.
I don't think more hardware than what you have mentioned will add significant transaction speed.
