How does Axis fit into the web services paradigm? Is it part of J2EE specs? How does it relate to SOAP?

Thank you,

QB]

Axis is an implementation of the SOAP specification.
It definitivelly fits into webservices. Its one of the java ways to do webservices
It is not part of any J2EE specs. Nevertheless, J2EE 1.4 mandates to support JAX-RPC and SAAJ. As Axis is compliant with these 2 specs, it's an implementation which is in accordance with a part of J2EE 1.4

Axis is an implementation of SOAP developed by Apache. Its a lightweight protocol for exchange of information in a decentralized, distributed environment. U can say axis is a soap engine.
