hello,
i'm a beginner in the whole ws thing. i just still didn't understand (stupid me)
why would i use all those soap-xml-rpc-whatever stuff ? why should i write some special message and send it to the server which should be set up to understand it and then recieve it back and pars it and so on? i can just send some params with http request and get some other params with http response and that's it.
so, please, tell me WHY?

Standards. It's perfectly fine to use a custom protocol based on HTTP if that suits your requirements. However, you can avoid a lot of grief by selecting an industry accepted protocol having a number of commercial and open-source implementations.

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
