Receiving a 404 error when trying to deploy a .wsdd file. I execute the following command D:\EclipseProjects\axisPlay\WEB-INF\classes\com\axisplay\ws>java -cp %AXISCLASSPATH% org.apache.axis.client.AdminClient deploy.wsdd and it returns with this message: Exception:: (404)/axis/services/AdminService I am able to successfully execute everything in the Axis .html page - Thanks - PJ
the default port for adminclient in 8080, if you are using tomcat(standalone) then it would work. if not try to use the -p[port] option while deploying did you able to see the happyaxis.jsp page as well ?
Yes, as it says, I'm a greenhorn. In any event, when I submit this command line statement (above), I get back Warning: -llhttp://localhost:8080/axis/services/AdminService not understood. Ignoring. No matter how I compose this deployment request, the AdminClient never returns, until it dumps core (usually ~5 minutes later). It's as if it is searching for something to connect to, which it never does, and then it gives up in a rude way. Likewise, attempts to invoke actual services hang as well.
At this point, I'm just using the SimpleAxisServer on port 8080.
Nevermind ... the clue was in the fact that the optional bits were being ignored - not by the AdminClient, but by Java ; Yep, I was pointing to an older instance of Java. Shoot. Looks like I got thrown by that one.
