As a greenhorn in WebServices I would appreciate your help:

Can you please point me to or post a simple Java web services client example calling one of the services published in www.xmethods.net?

Does jdk 1.4.2 is enough for this task or do I need some more libraries? which ones?

Thank you
Greg

You might want to consider feeding the WSDL URL for some simple-sounding service to your IDE's web services tools or wsdl2java and see what kind of code it spits out.

For example, http://www.swanandmokashi.com/HomePage/WebServices/StockQuotes.asmx?WSDL looks relatively simple (it takes only one input parameter).
