The Java APIs seem to allow the developer to reach the same result via different APIs.

With this in mind, is there any advantage in commicating with a known Web Service via the JAX-RPC method over using SAAJ (assume no attachment and a simple request/response style call)?

James

well as per my best knowledge (and i am not an expert.. ..) SAAJ's main benefit lies in its ability to handle SOAP with attachments...if you dont have heavy pay load then JAX-RPC should be ok....
