UDDI - how you find a web service
WSDL - the api for a web service
SOAP - how messages are sent if you are using web services

Is that brief enough?

William,

Isn't WSDL used for packaging the web service for publishing later onto the UDDI.

Adi.

The main purpose of the wsdl, as I understand it, is to provide the api. It is what the client uses to figure out how many parameters each method wants, for example. This isn't to say that it can't be used in other ways. A more formal definition
