Hello, I am looking for a way to access a webservice on one of the machines on my Local Area Network. I normally use a endpoint address starting with http:// , or https:// as a tomcat server is running on the machine. But the application is packaged as a JNLP application and the network guys installed Microsoft Proxy Server ISA and as a result, nothing works when it's packaged JAR (i.e accessing web services). but it works alright when the app is standalone. Dunno what to do about this but is there a way to access web services using another protocol other than http, maybe using file:// . Thanks.

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
