I am into process of migratinf my J2EE (Weblogic 8.1) application from JDK1.3 to JDK 1.4. I am facing some problems in XML related processes like i am using castor for XML-java communication and XERCES as parser. Do i need to do something regarding parsers etc?

You will run into problems because the XML API in the standard library got redesigned and of course the XERCES package has evolved alot.
I would suggest that you go to JDK1.5 which has plenty of XML support and drop the use of nonstandard libraries. The castor site says that the latest version should work with JDK 1.5
