I'm proud ( i'm not sure if this is the correct forum ) to announce that Kathy Sierra, the original founder of javaranch.com, has kindly conceeded an interview for our Java portal : http://www.javahispano.org in which she talks about javaranch.com, certification, and other very interesting topics.

You can access the english version of the interview here

Kathy Sierra Scores 2B's and 3R's.
Brains and Beauty. (didn't realise she was that pretty!)
Reading, wRiting and aRithmetic. ( the w is silent and the a short).
What grade to use for crediting spanning the entire length and breadth of Java technology ? A grade far beyond Java Certifications.
Keep going and it just might be a KBE. (It took Bill Gates about 30 years)
kudos for the de-mystifying Head Firsts.

Hmm I've got a problem I printed the article out to let my wife read it, but do I edit the picture out or not. She might get the wrong idea as to why I became a HF groupie.
Maybe if I show a picture of Bert she might become a HF groupie herself

Methinks whoever was interviewing Kathy was flirting,
whereas the Contact pages exhibits an element of Goofiness for all it's,
er, contacts.
I think (can't read Spanish) they are interviewing Richard Monsoon Hafael next but no picture.
Well, enough trouble-making for today.

Well I only understand about half the words, but it looks like they're just pointing out a nifty entry in RMH's blog.

I think they should interview you next, Jim.
And several other Sheriffs, on how to run a Ranch.
JavaRanch may end up with some nice jazzy pictures on it's Contact Page then.
Just joking! Don't ever change.

I like how she's described in at java.net as someone who likes to "think about thinking". I'm fascinated by learning theory but I'm such a hands on individual that I don't think I could do it myself. I'm really thankful we have people like Kathy Sierra in the field who have a keen interest in finding ways not only promote Java, but discover new ways to help people learn it.
I just have to throw this out as well. A lot of the "gurus" in our field (I won't name any names) sometimes come off as a bit full of themselves. I never really get that impression from reading her blogs or bits and pieces of her here and there. I can't help but think that makes people a lot more receptive to what she has to say.
