Web Services Product Comparison?

+Pie Number of slices to send: Send
I'm searching for technical information/product comparisons - but not finding much useful information.

Does anyone know of a list of the main categories and providers of Web Services products?

I'm really looking for a list (and comparison) of the Enterprise Service Bus vendors.

However, there's a few other categories that are useful to look at if a list comparison is available (security, BPEL, SOAP stack vendors like Systinet, Web Services management, etc)

Also, if anyone can point to technical product reviews ....

I've also already looked at webservices.org, web services architect, looselycoupled, etc.

I can't find solid product reviews or product comparison matrices.

This is a list of Community Members of WS-I.org

and Advocates.

Not exactly a review or product matrix .. but you can run through the capabilities of the WS-I compliant offerings.

One of the Advocates might have a survey.

So far as I know, no such survey exists. No vendor will ever do one, because it will either (1) show up their weaknesses, or (2) cover the truth. No industry consortium or consortia-run website will do one for the same reasons - each constituent vendor will protest such a move.

AFAIK, the only way to proceed is by reading each vendor's product specs and, where possible, trying the products out. This is a real pain - and very slow - but I've not yet found a better solution.

The upside to this is that by trying a few different platforms you get to know standards like WSDL really well.
